Cazenovia College sophomore Jerome Bright, an outfielder for the Wildcat baseball team, was recently signed to play with the NYCBL Utica Brewers.
The San Francisco, Cali. native is one of 29 players on the Brewers roster, which is comprised of athletes from nine different states and two countries. The team is made up of players currently playing at the college level, representing NCAA division I, II and III, NJCAA and NAIA colleges and universities.
The Brewers play a 43-game regular season including an exhibition scheduled against the U.S. Military All-Stars. Home games are held at Donovan Stadium in Utica.
The Utica Brewers finished their 2011 season with an overall record of 43-14 and have many of their key players back for the 2012 season.
The Brewers ended their season on a high note after winning the NABF College World Series title behind a complete game, 10 strikeout performances by LA Angels draft pick Mike Johnson, now a member of their minor league system.
