— Before winter break, Van Buren Elementary School’s art club revealed three large posters students created to promote the school’s Parents as Reading Partners program.

Thirteen students met once a week from the beginning of the school year to mid-February to work on their posters, which reflect the program’s theme, “Discover the Magic in Books.” They are Abbie Alder, Courtney Clute, Liz Erich, Nolan Fenner, Luca Giannino, Catherine Griffo, Breanna Jernigan, Candace Kim, Abby Manning, Audrey McConnell, Kessie Patnode, Alyssa Schafer, and Cameron Sweeney. They worked under the guidance of art teacher Michelle Danchick. Their posters will hang in the school cafeteria for the month of March to remind students to read every day.
