Pedestrian crossing Old Liverpool Road struck by car

— Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports that deputies are investigating a car/pedestrian crash that left a Liverpool man hospitalized with a head injury.

Tonight at 6:33 p.m., sheriff’s deputies responded to the 700 block of Old Liverpool Road to investigate a car/pedestrian accident. John Crouch, 44, of 709 Old Liverpool Road, was struck by a 2012 Subaru, operated by Steven Riou, 22, of 4214 Streamwood Drive, who was traveling west on Old Liverpool Road. Witnesses reported that Crouch was attempting to cross the road and ran out in front of Riou’s car.

Rescue crews from the Liverpool Fire Department responded to the scene and Crouch, whose injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, was transported to University Hospital. Crouch was issued a ticket for crossing into the path of a motor vehicle.
