Aspiring actors Brandon Swart, left, Kilian Crowley and Noah Zinsmeister rehearse with the company for the tune “Ioway.” The Caz High School Drama Club will present “State Fair” on March 15,16 and 17.
The Cazenovia High School Drama Club will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “State Fair” at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 15, and 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, March 16 and 17.
State Fair was first created as a movie and then rewritten for the Broadway stage in the 1990s. The updated version has many familiar R&H melodies, including “Grand Night for Singing,” “Might as Well Be Spring” and “Boys and Girls Like You and Me” (originally from Cinderella).
Casting for the show was completed in December and rehearsals have been underway for several weeks.
Tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb. 27, immediately following the February break and can be reserved at that time by visiting the Drama Club page on the school’s website, caz.cnyric.org, or by calling 655-5309.
All seats for the Friday and Saturday shows will be $9. Thursday’s show will be free for senior citizens. Seniors may reserve their free seats in advance and pick them up at the door on the day of the performance.
All other seats for the Thursday production can be reserved for $9.
