Library Focus: Tax help, movie night and leadership challenge offered this week

We have a busy week ahead for all ages with chances to improve your computer skills, take up new hobbies, widen your job support network, catch a free flick or pick up some choice bargains at our weekend book and media sale. While you’re here, sign up to join us for a two-part Leadership Workshop (held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday Feb. 28 and 29) next week when Steve Borek, CEO and Founder of End Game Business, an Executive and Leadership Coaching firm, shows us how to apply The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership. Don’t miss this chance to acquire important skills you can put to use in your business or organization.

AARP Tax Help

Seniors and others with reduced incomes are invited to call 635-5631 and sign up for tax preparation help with volunteers from AARP. Appointments are available Tuesday and Wednesday mornings but hurry, February is already heavily booked.

Computer class roundup

Classes are offered different days and times, but all are hands on and limited to 10 participants so be sure to call in and register. This month’s offerings include: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, Web Basics; and 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, Troubleshooting- Bring Your Portable Electronic Device and we’ll try to make it behave.

Crafty moves

In Stitches meets from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22, to sew and sew again. Adult crafts end with a Scrapbooking Session with Missy Shipman at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23. There is a $20 materials fee for this month’s project and registration is required.

Improve your job report

Build a support system by joining us at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, to gather with other job hunters to help and support each other. A librarian will be there to help with advice and information.
