Track girls post peak performances

Cazenovia senior captain Jill Vogl was a leader for the Lady Lakers at the CNY Select Meet on Feb. 7, winning the 300-meter dash, scoring in the 55 and leading off the Lakers’ 4x200-meter relay. Vogl is ranked second in the 300 event, among all athletes in Section III.

Senior Captain Anna Schultz, Jessie Matt and Kent joined Vogl to earn a 1:57.71 ninth place finish in physical, roller derby-like running of the 4x200 meter relay. Molly Woodworth was seventh in the shot at 28-3 while Liz Pittman reached 28-10.25 in the triple jump.

The Lakers have ten days to train for the Section III Championship on Feb. 18 when they will seek to defend their 2011 Class B title. The meet will be conducted at 10 a.m. at OCC’s SRC Arena.
