Caz athlete receives Scholarship Award from NFF

The National Football Foundation recently honored Section III Scholar-Athletes during an awards dinner at Turning Stone Resort.

Cazenovia High School senior Doyle Judge represented the 2011 Cazenovia Laker Football Team while receiving his award. In attendance with him were coaches Tom Niedel, Jay Steinhorst and Mark Evans.

This chapter of the National Football Foundation provided $35,250 in scholarship money to 64 scholar athletes, and Tuxedo Junction provided all of the recipients with a tuxedo to wear for the event.

The Scholarship award is for “Academic Achievement, School and Community Leadership and Football Performance.”

Judge is the 12th Cazenovia recipient of this award. Former Cazenovia winners are Corey Flynn, Adam Kulczycky, Craig Perkins, Ben Koesterer, Jake Dorsey, Kevin Duffy, Thomas Eschen Jr. , Arthur Bigsby lll, Sean Dougherty, Chad Dorrance and Liam Ryan.

Judge will continue his academic and athletic pursuits at Amherst College in the fall of 2012, where he will play football and lacrosse.
