Baldwinsville If you are looking for relief from the dreary winter weather, try a night of music to lift your spirits. The district has scheduled several concerts in February and March to showcase its students’ musical talents in band, orchestra and chorus. All concerts are free and open to the public.
Two schools will bring the magic of Broadway to Baldwinsville in March. Baker High School will present the musical “Sweeney Todd” and Reynolds Elementary School will present the musical “Seussical Jr.” Tickets must be purchased for each musical.
Below is a schedule of the district’s concerts as well as the dates and times for Baker’s and Reynolds’ musical productions:
All-District Band Festival – 7 p.m., Baker High School auditorium. Beginner band students from the elementary schools and the Baker High School wind ensemble will perform.
All-District Strings Concert – 7 p.m., Baker High School gym. String students in fourth through seventh grades and the Baker High School jazz strings ensemble, Exit 11, will perform.
March 8, 9 and 10
“Sweeney Todd” – Baker High School will present the musical at 7 p.m. March 8 and 9 and at 1 and 7 p.m. March 10 in the school auditorium. Tickets are $8, $10 and $12 and can be purchased beginning Feb. 8 by calling the box office at 638-6039.
Durgee Junior High School Band and Seventh Grade Band Concert – 7 p.m., Baker High School auditorium. Both bands will perform Irish inspired pieces.
March 16 and 17
“Seussical Jr.” – Reynolds Elementary School Youth Players present the musical at 7 p.m. March 16 and at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. March 17 in the school cafeteria. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased beginning Feb. 17 by calling 569-2388.
Ray Cabaret –7 p.m., Ray Middle School gym. The Katz Pajamaz (jazz band), Ray Riffers (jazz chorus) and the Bee Sharps (jazz strings) will perform in a cabaret style setting with table seating and refreshments served. This year’s event features the music of The Beatles.
All-District Band Concert – 7 p.m., Baker High School auditorium. Fifth and sixth grade band students and the district’s pep band, Plan Bee, will perform.
