Official 2012 Cazenovia Winter Festival Schedule

Sunday, Feb. 12

Snow Sculptures. All day. Throughout the village. Weather permitting.

Snowshoe/Road Race/Walk. 10 a.m. Highland Forest. 5k and 10k race and walk on wooded trails, starts at lodge. Running race will be conducted in lieu of snowshoeing if there is no snow. Entry form and information at bikeloft.com.

NO Downhill Skiing for 2012. Due to the lack of snow, downhill skiing at the Cazenovia Ski Club will not be feasible this year – see you in 2013. For more information, visit skicaz.com.

Family Ice Skating. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Burton Street Ice Skating Rink. Weather Permitting.

Winter Festival Art Show. Noon to 3:30 p.m. St. Peter’s Parish Hall. Sponsored by Cazenovia Arts. Free admission.

Haiti Fundraiser Event. 2 p.m. Catherine Cummings Theatre at Cazenovia College. “An Afternoon of Irish Music and Step Dancing” is a fundraiser sponsored by the Haiti Committee of St. James Church, featuring Joe Davoli on fiddle, Bill Delaney on guitar and the McDonald-Ashford Academy of Irish Step Dancing. General seating is $15, $10 for children 10-years and under. Tickets available at Cazenovia Jewelry, Matthew’s Salon in Cazenovia, and at the door.

Storytelling and Chocolate Party. 2 to 3 p.m. Cazenovia Public Library. Two storytellers followed by hot chocolate and a variety of chocolate treats. Recommended for ages 4 to 8. Sponsored by the Friends of the Cazenovia Library. For information call 655-9322 or visit cazenoviapubliclibrary.org.

Wednesday, Feb. 15

Learn to Row. 3 to 4:30 p.m. Cazenovia High School Auxiliary Gym. Hosted by the Cazenovia Rowing Club. Learn basics of the rowing stroke, terminology and rowing etiquette. Free. All are welcome.
