continued The act of vandalism, combined with the projected cost of the repairs to the water tank paint job, makes the perpetrators of the crime subject to charges of criminal trespass and criminal mischief, probably a class D felony, said Village Police Chief Lloyd Perkins. If caught, the perpetrators could face two-to-five years in prison, two-to-five years on probation, a monetary fine or all of the above, he said.
“If and when we apprehend the perpetrators we would press charges,” Perkins said. “They could face serious criminal charges.”
