A (slightly belated) carol

The holiday may be over but there’s still time to contemplate the meaning of Christmas before we barrel into the New Year. The group continues its exploration of history and the classics with this month’s discussion of “A Christmas Carol,” by Charles Dickens at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27.

Doctor Who Christmas Fête

Will the Tardis arrive in time? Only the Doctor knows. Join us from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, for a celebration of our favorite ancient alien with Doctor Who Christmas specials, Whovian treats, (Chocolate Dalek?) and Who trivia. Costumes are optional but why pass up the chance to show up as your favorite doctor, companion or alien?

Join Sandee of Cherished Baskets and Treasures from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, for a family basket making session. Have the kid make a small basket for a $10 materials charge or collaborate on a larger basket for $15 best of all make both and start your own collection of nesting baskets.
