Baldwinsville The special magic of a vintage miniature Christmas village awaits visitors to the Museum at the Shacksboro Schoolhouse this year.
A multi-generation family collection spanning more than 60 years, the village includes more than 20 houses and churches, scores of figures, deer, trees and more. True to the nature of such collections, the village embraces multiple time spans and assorted scales. Features include loofah and bottle brush trees, lead figurines, cellophane windows, lithographed and glitter houses as well as a jolly late 20th century Santa and his elf helper.
The gift of Alice Shaffer, the village is making its public debut at the museum this season where it will remain on view for visitors’ enjoyment through January. Located at 46 Canton St., the museum is open from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. For more information, call 638-2452.
