To the editor:

Linda Barnwell, a longtime resident of Manlius, is a caregiver at SonShine Child Care. On the Monday after Easter, April 9, 2012, her home was damaged by a house fire. Thank the Lord, no one was injured, but now she does not have enough money to complete the necessary repairs.

Community Covenant Church is mounting a fund drive during late August and all through September to help her. Our goal is $4,000. Donations are tax deductible.

The $4,000 will help Linda cover the cost of repairing the frame, re-shingling the roof, and getting the electric going. Once these repairs are made, various groups have volunteered to help restore the interior. Erie Materials has already generously donated the shingles for the roof.

You may donate in three different ways:

1) Online at manliusdaycare.com/donate.html.

2) Mail us a check. Make it to: Community Covenant Church, 107 Pleasant St., Manlius, NY 13104. Please earmark it “Linda Barnwell.”

3) Stop by during business hours and donate at the SonShine desk. Our building is the old Manlius High School, 107 Pleasant St.

If you have any questions or can offer help in some way, you may contact me, the pastor of Community Covenant Church, Dr. Thomas Worth, through the SonShine Child Care front desk, 682-2895, or write to me at trwdmin@gmail.com

Or you may write to Marsha Worth at marshworth@juno.com

Thank you and God bless you!

Sincerely,

Tom and Marsha Worth
