continued Man arrested on warrant
On July 25, police arrested Michael A. French, 25, of 150 Commane Road, Baldwinsville, on an arrest warrant for driving while intoxicated. French had originally been charged on June 3, but had failed to appear in court, which resulted in the warrant being issued. He was processed and arraigned before Judge Huling, who set bail at $2,500 cash/bond and he was remanded to the custody of the Justice Center Jail to re-appear in court on Aug. 1.
Two charged with driving with suspended licenses
On July 22, police observed a vehicle speeding on E. Genesee Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Wynstine S. Williams, 28, of 559 Sunflower Dr., Liverpool. DMV checks showed that his license was suspended and he was arrested and charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speed in zone. He was processed and then turned over to the Manlius Police Department, as they had an active warrant for his arrest. He is to appear in village court on Aug. 22 to answer this charge.
On July 23, police stopped a vehicle on E. Genesee Street after the patrol vehicle’s license plate reader alerted that the registration on the vehicle was suspended. The driver was identified as Scott A. Jones, 45, of 7576 New Rt. 31, Baldwinsville. DMV checks also showed that Jones’ driver’s license was also suspended and he was placed under arrest and charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and suspended registration. He was processed and released on his own recognizance to appear in court on Aug. 8.
Man charged with violating order of protection
On July 21, police arrested William J. Burgess, 63, of 201 Conifer Dr., Baldwinsville, and charged him with second-degree criminal contempt. It is alleged that Burgess violated a stay away order of protection, issued by family court, by communicating with the protected victim. He was arraigned before Judge Huling and released on his own recognizance to appear in court on July 25.
Driving while intoxicated charged
At 12:13 a.m. July 29, police observed a vehicle drive over the fog line several times while on Syracuse Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Thinh T. Mai, 48, of 9 Seneca Street, Baldwinsville. Alcohol involvement was determined and he was placed under arrest and charged with DWI. He was processed and released on his own recognizance to appear in court on Aug. 8.
