B’ville athletic program ranked fourth in state

— The New York State Sportswriters Association has ranked the Baldwinsville Central School District’s athletic program as one of the top five in Class AA for the 2011-12 school year.

The association ranked the district number four on the 2011-12 NYSSWA Kerr Cup combined boys and girls leader list, based on the athletic program’s score of 26.5 points. NYSSWA assigned points to schools based on results from New York State Public High School Athletic Association championship tournaments and meets for boys’ and girls’ teams.

“This is an outstanding accomplishment for Baldwinsville’s program,” said Christopher Campolieta, the district’s director of athletics. “This would not have been possible without the dedication of our athletes, coaches, parents, administrators, the school board, volunteers and the Baldwinsville community.”

There are 159 Class AA high schools in New York State.
