B’ville student receives art award

— Audrey Hicks, of Baldwinsville, has been honored for her commitment and potential.

Attending Baldwinsville public schools from kindergarten through eighth grade then graduating from Bishop Ludden High School, Hicks is currently in her junior year of Art Education Studies at Syracuse University.

Hicks has been involved with Syracuse University’s South Campus Saturday 2012 Art Workshop Program, which finished April 14 with a celebration of the children’s accomplishments. At the end of the celebration there was a ceremony in which Hicks was presented with The Lorraine Chanatry 2012 Art Education Award. The award is given to a student that is a conscientious female that demonstrates great promise going forth. The awardee must also be a junior that is actively involved.

Although Hicks maintains a high GPA, she was given this award based on her commitment and potential.
