B'ville school budget: spending down, tax levy increases

— The budget proposal also includes a separate proposition for the purchase of eight school buses at a cost of $931,000. The district has proposed buying four 65-passenger buses, one 30-passenger bus, one long wheelchair bus and two short wheelchair buses. With the voters’ approval, the district purchases roughly the same amount of buses each year to maintain the existing fleet.

“Thank you to the community for their support that allows us to continue to offer excellent programming,” Dangle said.

A public budget hearing will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Durgee Junior High School cafeteria, on the district’s campus (29 East Oneida St., Baldwinsville). The budget vote will be held from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 15, in the Baker High School auditorium. Copies of the budget can be reviewed prior to the hearing from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday in the district office on the campus.
