Police blotter: Woman faces grand larceny charge

— At 8:03 a.m. April 11, Baldwinsville Police arrested Melinda A. Barrett, 29, of 10313 Slab City Road, Jordan, and charged her with third degree grand larceny and first degree falsifying business records. The charges stem from an investigation, which alleges that while employed as the office manager for Dr. Sohrweide, DDS, Barrett stole cash that patients had paid for their dental services and then altered the patient records to show that a payment was not owed. The incidents were from between 2005 and 2010 and it is alleged that Barrett stole in excess of $11,000. She was processed and arraigned before Judge Huling who released her on her own recognizance pending her appearance in Onondaga County Court.

Man charged with violating order of protection

At 9:03 a.m. April 10, Baldwinsville Police arrested Joseph E. Sorbello, 25, of 111 McKeeney Ave., Mattydale, on charges of first degree criminal contempt and second degree harassment. The charges stem from an incident on April 5 at an Oswego Street residence, where it is alleged that he threatened the victim, which was in violation of an order of protection. He was processed and arraigned before Judge E. Huling and released into the pre-trial release program, to re-appear in court on April 18.

Petit larceny charged

At 3:43 p.m. April 9, Baldwinsville Police responded to Kinney Drugs, 21 E. Genesee St. in regards to a shoplifter complaint. Upon investigation, it is alleged that Tiffani E. Egnatowicz, 20, of 709 Lodi St., A-5, Syracuse, had stolen a pregnancy test kit, valued at $14.99 and had been apprehended by store personnel. She was arrested, charged with petit larceny and released on her own recognizance to appear in court on April 25.

Six face driving with suspended license charges

At 10:57 p.m. April 6, a vehicle was observed speeding on Canton Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Michelle A. Hartman, 53, of 6551 Canton St., Warners. DMV checks showed that her driver’s license was suspended and she was charged with third degree aggravated unlicensed operation and speed in zone. She was processed and released on her own recognizance to appear in court on April 25.
