Library Focus: Budget vote, book sale held next week

Whether you sing in the rain or only in the shower, you’re likely to find new choices and old favorites at this month’s session of Open Mike. Join us at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, at this long running family friendly program hosted by Merry Mischief; performer sign-in begins at 6:30 p.m.

Boost SAT scores

Learn how to improve your SAT scores with proven test taking strategies. Classes are free but registration is required. Sign up at the circulation desk or call 635-5631 to reserve your space for these courses: SAT Prep for Verbal at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, and SAT Prep for Math at 7 p.m. Monday, April 23.

White deer and more

Dennis Money, president of Seneca White Deer Inc., will discuss six decades of military history at the former Seneca Army depot at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19. Suggested $1 donation accepted at the door; all are welcome.

Peeps and jellybeans and Red Hots, Oh my! The Onondaga Otaku crew meets to continue the adventures of Angel Beat and Fairy Tale with the usual ramen and a chance to make candy sushi at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 19.

Scrapbooking

Spring brings new perspective and projects with Missy Shipman’s class held at 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19. There is a $20 materials fee and registration is required for this popular program.

Healthy Living with Reiki

Learn how Reiki can improve your life and health at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22. Registration is required.

Budget vote and bake sale

Residents of the Baldwinsville School District ages 18 and over are eligible to vote on trustees and the upcoming library budget at Thursday, April 26. The Friends of the Baldwinsville Public Library will also hold a bake sale on that day and the Spring Book Sale will begin that day and run through Monday, April 30.

Valerie Chism is the young adult librarian at the Baldwinsville Public Library.
