LETTERS: Celebrate Earth Day with Project Cafe: Drop off old electronics at Common Grounds

To the editor:

Earth day is just around the corner, and it’s time to think about how you can do your part.

This can become overwhelming; sea turtles need saving, manatees need rescuing, oceans need cleaning and energy needs preserving, so where do you start?

Project Cafe would like to make your first steps easier. Begin with recycling your old electronics (specifically cell phones, cameras, iPods, and laptops) and empty ink cartridges by dropping them off at Project Cafe’s recycling drop box in Common Grounds. By disposing of your old electronics responsibly, you are doing your part in reducing waste in landfills and saving valuable reusable material.

In addition to preserving the environment, you are also helping out your community. Project Cafe receives a small dollar amount for each item recycled.

So let’s honor Earth Day every day. Bring in your old electronics and ink cartridges to Common Grounds. We appreciate your efforts. Happy Earth Day!
