Sheriff’s detectives arrest Cicero bank robbery suspect

— Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin E. Walsh reports that detectives have arrested a man for the robbery of a town of Cicero bank.

Last night Onondaga County Sheriff’s detectives charged Timothy E. Okun, 25, of 104 Jefferson Street in Phoenix, with robbery in the second degree, criminal use of a firearm in the second degree and grand larceny in the third degree in connection with yesterday’s robbery of the Fulton Savings Bank on Bartel Road in Cicero just before 5 p.m.

Sheriff’s detectives received several anonymous tips regarding the suspect’s identity. At approximately 11:40 p.m., detectives located Okun in the parking lot of the Carousel Mall, where he was taken in to custody without incident.

Okun was lodged at the Justice Center and will be arraigned in Cicero Town Court later this morning.
