— The Burton Street Spring Book Fair was a big success thanks to the Burton Street Elementary School Elementary families, friends community members and all the volunteers that helped run the event.

Clifford (the big red dog) was a big hit as he wandered through the school’s halls greeting all the students. Family night had no shortage of visitors and the Burton Street Parent Teacher Association was pleased to have all the “grandpersons” visit with their special students.

The BSPTA also thanked families for supporting the “One For Books” program. The classes that raised the most money were competing for the opportunity to submit a challenge for the principal, Mary-Ann MacIntosh to perform at the next assembly. Ms. Taylor’s and Mrs. Kielbasinski’s classes raised the most, with a student average of $1 each. More than $300 was raised for students in need and classroom books.
