Baldwinsville Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb, both outstanding guitar players individually, will share the stage together for an afternoon of world class guitar playing at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 15, at the Grace Episcopal Church.
“We are very fortunate to have such a high quality act coming to our church given the duo's busy performance schedule around the country,” said Diane Bowes, concert organizer and church member.
The pair has just returned from their appearance as headline guests at the Cordes Sensibles Guitar Festival in Bordeaux, France, which was followed by a 13-day tour of Northern France and Germany. The duo has also been experiencing increased demand for their performances around the USA contributing to a busy tour schedule for the year.
Mazengarb, an internationally recognized guitarist who hails from New Zealand and Barrigar, the youngest instrumentalist to ever appear on the Grand Ole Opry were first brought together by the Australian Guitar sensation Tommy Emmanuel. They attribute Tommy, Chet Atkins and Jerry Reed as their biggest influences, and recently performed with Tommy Emmanuel down in Nashville. They perform a wide range of popular and original material including stunning guitar duets and songs that feature their outstanding guitar talent, tasteful musicality and creative interaction.
Their debut album received a SAMMY award for ‘Best Americana Album’ in 2011.
