B’ville district earns safety excellence award

— The Baldwinsville Central School District is one of 112 school districts and Board of Cooperative Educational Services in the state to receive the 2012 School Safety Excellence Award from the Utica National Insurance Group. Utica National officials presented the award at its 32nd annual school safety seminar on March 27.

The insurance company evaluated schools in 19 categories, from playground safety to indoor air quality. The district received the award at the titanium level, the highest distinction, and received a commemorative plaque and $500 to use to further its safety efforts.
