CRIS to hold additional community workshops

— Community Resources for Independent Seniors is continuing the series of workshops on subjects of interest to senior adults and their families. An informational session on the changes coming to the Elderly Pharmaceutical Insurance Coverage program has been added to the schedule.

10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23 - Medicare 101: An informational session on the different parts of Medicare. It may be of particular interest to those who will be signing up in the near future, and may provide additional information for those who are presently on Medicare, but have questions.

1:30 to 3 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26 - Changes in the EPIC program: Anticipated changes for the 2012 year will be explained.

1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27 - Medicare supplement options: To be given by Theresa Cangemi, from Medicare Made Simple.

10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7 - Preventing falls: Will be presented by Dr. Betty Perkins-Carpenter, former Olympic Diving Coach and author of “Preventing Falls”.

All workshops are held at 101 Nelson St. in Cazenovia. If interested in attending, call 655-5743 or 447-7625 to register for sessions.

Transportation is available through CRIS-CAT. Please call CRIS-CAT, 655-0612, at least two days prior to the workshop you’d like to attend.
