Elaina Leonardo, of Liverpool, and her children escaped domestic abuse at the hands of her ex-husband with the help of the Hiscock Legal Aid Society's Domestic Violence Project.
continued After eight days of trial spanning four months, Judge Hanuszczak awarded Leonardo sole legal and physical custody of her children, with limited regular visitation for her abusive ex-husband. The Court also took the unusual step of requiring the father to get advance written permission from the Court prior to filing any legal proceeding in Family Court concerning custody or parental access.
Leonardo is tremendously grateful for the quality legal representation, respectful treatment, and emotional support she received from Lovejoy-Grinnell and the staff at Hiscock Legal Aid.
