Local volunteers, contractors and residents will improve close to 60 homes in two Syracuse neighborhoods through painting, repair, planting and cleaning.
The Home HeadQuarters Annual Block Blitz Neighborhood Clean Up will tackle projects in the Near Westside and Skunk City, focusing on the 700 block of Otisco Street and the 100 block of Hoefler Street. Point locations for supplies, food and other amenities will be in the lot on the corner of Otisco and Ontario on the Near Westside and at a vacant lot located at 125 Hoefler Street in Skunk City. Hundreds of volunteers, staff, skilled work crews and neighbors will be out on both blocks painting, landscaping, repairing and handling general clean up. Full house paintings, porch repair, small demolition work and foundation plantings will also be available projects for volunteers.
Volunteers and supplies are still needed for the one-day, two-neighborhood event. Donations of time and/or supplies can be made to Home HeadQuarters by calling 474-1939 ext. 259, emailing email@example.com, or contacting the organization through their Facebook page.
