Baldwinsville After a heated and close primary race, Lysander republicans have chosen their candidate.
Incumbent Barry Bullis has unofficially won the republican nomination for Lysander Town Supervisor against contender Fred Burtch during today’s primary election. According to the Onondaga County Board of Election’s website, which posts the unofficial results of every election in the county, Bullis received 492 votes while Burtch received 456 votes. There were also 6 write-ins for the republican ticket.
Bullis now faces contender John Salisbury, who previously received the democratic nomination and, after tonight’s election results, is also on the conservative ticket with 43 out of 48 votes. The two will face each other in the November election. While Burtch will not be on the republican, democrat, independent or conservative ticket in the November election, he has said he may still run a write-in campaign for the Lysander supervisor seat.
In other Lysander primary news, contender Charles Mantione, Jr. won the conservative and independence nominations for Lysander Town Justice against incumbent Claire Rutherford. Mantione had 37 conservative and 26 independent votes against Rutherford’s 13 conservative and nine independent votes.
