Solvay, Westhill also new to fall schedule

— West Genesee, who lost its Sept. 1 opener to Oswego, had a five-game defeat to Central Square. The Wildcats won the opener 25-19, dropped the next two games 25-17 and 25-21, and tied it again with a 25-21 fourth game before losing a tight final game to the Red Hawks 26-24.

In this close battle, Trish Andrews (10 kills) and Emily Shackleton (nine kills) led the front line, fed by Liz LaComb, who had 22 assists, three kills and three blocks. Jackie Harris added 10 digs.

As for Bishop Ludden, it lost in three games to Cazenovia Wednesday 25-8, 25-10, 25-16, despite Kompf’s five assists, Janudz’s five digs and Micaela Dixon’s three kills.

When Solvay took its turn at Ludden on Friday, the Bearcats pulled off a 25-14, 25-6, 25-12 sweep. Bandera had six aces and eight assists, with Jackie Gardner putting together eight aces and seven assists. Julie Gardner had six kills and three kills.
