Due to inclement weather, the Bridgeport Duck Race, scheduled for 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, has been postponed. It will take place next Saturday, Sept. 15, instead. It will still take place at 3 p.m. in Chittenango Creek behind St. Francis of Assisi Church in Bridgeport.
Tornado warnings and severe weather forced organizers of the event, which raises money for the Bridgeport Food Pantry, to cancel the event about an hour before it was scheduled to kick off. The duck race typically raises about $25,000 for the food pantry.
The duck race was one of many events scuttled due to the weather Saturday.
If you have questions about the race, contact Patti Hedrick, food pantry coordinator, at 699-7976.
