The Baldwinsville Central School District marching band gears up for a new season that will culminate with a performance at the 2012 Gator Bowl in Florida in January.

— The Baldwinsville Central School District’s marching band home show is set for 6 p.m. Sept. 17 at Pelcher/Arcaro Stadium, 29 East Oneida Street in the village of Baldwinsville. Admission is $6, and food and beverages will be available to purchase.

The Baldwinsville Central School District marching band gears up for a new season that will culminate with a performance at the 2012 Gator Bowl in Florida in January.

The Baldwinsville Marching Band’s show this year is entitled “Apollo 11: From the Earth to the Moon.” The band is directed by Casey Vanderstouw.

In addition to Baldwinsville, high school marching bands from Auburn, Jordan-Elbridge, Westmoreland, Vestal, Marcus Whitman, East Ramapo, Corning East, Johnson City and Norwich will compete in the home show. The Syracuse University Marching Band will give a special guest performance.

The marching band has been invited to perform and compete in the 2012 Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, Florida in January. Baldwinsville will compete against other marching bands from around the country in a parade and field band competition and perform a show during the game’s halftime. The band and members of the Baldwinsville Pep Band will also perform at Kennedy Space Center while in Florida.
