— Webelos and Boy Scouts in Cazenovia will be participating in “Scouting for Food,” Nov. 6 and 12.

This is the 17th year the scouts have participated in Scouting’s National Good Turn for America.

Door hangers announcing the drive and requesting donations will be placed on doors of village homes on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 6.

Donations of non-perishable food items and paper goods will be collected at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12.

Donations should be hung outside the home and easily visible. All items collected will be delivered to the local food pantry at CazCares.

Last year, 2059 items were collected. The Scouts are hoping for a generous response again this year as there has been an increase in the need for food assistance in our community and throughout the country.

Sharon Schmit is volunteer publicist and committee member for Cazenovia Boy Scout Troop 18.
