Camillus to collect unwanted medications Saturday

— National Take Back Day will be held in Camillus this weekend.

The day will allow town of Camillus residents to dispose of unwanted or unused prescription drugs in a safe manner.

The police will participate in the national event, coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

In 2010 and April 2011, Americans turned in more than 309 tons of pills.

The public can drop off the medications at the Walgreens at the corner of Hinsdale Road and West Genesee Street or to the Kinney Drugs located at the corner of Gillespie Avenue and West Genesee Street from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 29. Needles or intravenous drugs can not be accepted.
