Meet the challengers event Oct. 27

— I would like the voters to know this election year offers a unique opportunity to the citizens of Lysander. We will have two new board members, and possibly a new town supervisor. These board members will then have the task of appointing another board member, as Mr. May is running unopposed for County Legislator. Our town has the ability to start 2012 with an almost “clean political slate.” Given our choices of candidates, we have the chance to elect a very diverse group of board members this election. I think it would be beneficial to Lysander to have various viewpoints and input to forge a new future for Lysander.

I have organized a Meet the Challengers Night for Lysander Town Supervisor. I have invited the other challengers, Fred Burtch and John Salisbury, to attend. It will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27. It will give voters the opportunity to hear from the challengers on why they feel they are the best candidate for Lysander Town Supervisor. I am inviting all residents of Lysander to attend.

Kevin A. Rode is a candidate for Lysander supervisor.
