Baldwinsville student is published poet

— Zachary Roseberry, a seventh-grader at Ray Middle School, is a published poet. His poem, “Rainbows,” will be included in “Acclaim,” a book of student poetry to be published by the American Library of Poetry later this fall.

Roseberry’s poem was inspired by Holocaust survivor Marion Lazan’s book, “Four Perfect Pebbles,” which he read as a class assignment in sixth-grade. His sixth-grade teacher, Darcy Moody, entered his poem last spring in the ALP’s poetry contest, which was open to all students nationwide in third through 12th grades.

Roseberry was a finalist in Division II (sixth and seventh grades) and won an iPod Touch.

Kelly Cary is the information officer for the Baldwinsville Central School District.
