Eighth annual wine & cheese tasting to benefit Fayetteville Senior Center

— The Fayetteville Senior Center welcomes four wineries this year to its eighth annual wine & cheese tasting from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21. This year’s event will feature wines from Longpoint Winery, Red Tail Ridge Winery, Owera Vineyards, and the combined winery of Swedish Hill Vineyards, Goose Watch and Penguin Bay.

The wine sampling stations surround an elegant display of cheeses and hors d’oeuvres. Guests may also browse the Silent Auction, which includes a wide selection of items generously donated by area businesses. Coffee sampling courtesy of Starbucks accompanied by light desserts complete the evening.

The silent auction will feature dozens of items including wine baskets, gift certificates for services and restaurants, tickets to local sporting events, jewelry, artwork and more.

“While the auction has something for everyone, we are excited to include four Disneyworld Park hopper passes this year,” said Sheila Ohstrom, Fayetteville Senior Center board member.

Proceeds from the fundraiser support the Fayetteville Senior Center. With more than 300 members, the senior center provides social activities, educational programs and health screening, as well as community oriented fund raising activities.

Admission is $20 per person. Reservations can be made by calling the center at 637-9025.
