B'ville quilt show features Civil War display

— Candlelight Quilt Guild of Baldwinsville will present their biennial quilt show in October with an added display celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War and the role of quilts in that conflict.

Held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at Van Buren Elementary School, 14 Ford St., Baldwinsville, the event will feature quilts, vendors, door prizes, boutique, tea room with Civil War display, raffles, a silent auction and quilt appraisals.

The guild was founded in 1984 and currently has more than 60 members with all degrees of quilting expertise. They meet on the second Tuesday of every month at the Van Buren elementary school in Baldwinsville. The membership has donated quilted items to local and national organizations including: United Church of Christ, Van Buren Elementary school, Gollisano Children's Hopital, Neonatal units at local hospitals, Vera House, Project Linus and Quilts of Valor. Proceeds from this show's quilt auction will be donated to Vera House North. Admission is $4; 50 cents off with food pantry donation. Kids 16 and younger free.
