Baker HS KBR keeps momentum

— Everyone survived – and no one went hungry – at the last Keep the Ball Rolling, which is Baker High School PTSA’s annual all night alcohol/drug-free celebration immediately following the senior ball.

Treasure chests of candy were available to seniors and their guests during the 2011 Keep the Ball Rolling event. Organizers have begun to prepare for KBR 2012 and welcome volunteers.

With a theme of “Survivor,” nearly 500 seniors and their guests joined the festivities. The KBR 2012 steering committee is gearing up, seeking volunteers and requesting donations to make the upcoming celebration as successful as its predecessors. Two significant donors have already stepped forward, both of which generously supported the previous KBR events. The grand prize, a certified used vehicle, will once again be donated by Burdick Automotive BMW, Ford, Lexus, and Toyota Scion, and Chris Hayden, Allstate Insurance, has pledged another $700 computer package for a lucky Baker High School senior.

To learn more about this year’s event, plan to attend a PTSA meeting held at 7 p.m. on the following dates: Oct. 5, Nov. 2 and Dec. 14. Help support KBR by dining-in or taking-out at Uno Chicago Grill on Oct. 13. A voucher must be presented to have a portion of the check donated to KBR. Vouchers can be obtained from a Baker High School senior, during the Oct.5 PTSA meeting or by visiting bville.org/tfiles/folder2082/UNOS%20Voucher.pdf.

Lorraine Zahn is a member of the KBR organization committee.
