Cazenovia To the editor:
“It takes a village…” to plan, plant and water, from spring and into fall, all the hayracks, window boxes, planters, gardens and hanging baskets that grace the village.
Our thanks to Roger Olcott of Brookside Greenhouses — a man of infinite patience and good advice — who gives us the run of his greenhouses when we plant the street planters that are stored there.
He delivers the planters to Albany Street along with all hanging baskets that he and his staff have grown all winter in the greenhouse.
Our thanks to Bill Carr and his helpful crew who keep the hanging baskets watered, put them up, and take them down, water the public gardens and planters on the street and in the meantime, fortunately for us, keep the village clean and pristine.
Thank you to Earl Buyea for his gracious financial contribution that allows us to buy fertilizer and potting soil.
A thank you, to all the merchants on Albany Street and Lincklaen Street who creatively plant and tend their own window boxes and planters.
Last, but never least, a thank you to all the Cazenovia Garden Club members who sign up and then plant, water, and care for the plantings in and around the village.
It truly does “take a village…” and we are grateful to all of you for your dedication to and caring for the village of Cazenovia.
