Third grade students in the Baldwinsville Central School District check out their new dictionaries, which they received from the Baldwinsville Rotary Club.

— The Baldwinsville Rotary Club recently distributed dictionaries to all third graders in the Baldwinsville School District including St. Mary's, Word of Life and Baldwinsville Christian Academy. In addition, all home schooled third graders received a new dictionary.

Enrollment is down this year, so only 457 dictionaries were distributed compared to higher distribution in previous years. The club was represented at each school by several Rotarians who shared their rolls in the club as well as the Rotary’s history.

This year several of the club members had either children or grandchildren in the third grade, which also made it more personal for them. New members also helped with the project.

Rotary always welcomes service-minded men and women. The club holds two meetings a week at the First United Methodist Church in the center of Baldwinsville. There is a 12:15 p.m. meeting on Wednesdays at the church and a 7:30 a.m. meeting on the first Wednesday of the month at the church. In addition, the club meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday evenings.
