— During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Fayetteville-Manlius High School and Christian Brothers Academy put their rivalry aside to help raise money to fight breast cancer. F-M and CBA squared off in a double–header soccer match on Sept. 23 at CBA. Both teams wore designed shirts that read “Kick for a Cure,” and pink shirts filled the stands, making it difficult to tell the two loyal fan bases apart.

Around 650 short sleeve pink T-shirts were sold at both schools in order to raise money. The 2011 representatives Michelle Wiese, captain of CBA’s women’s team, and Connor Hennessy, captain of FM’s men’s team presented a check for $3,300 to the Carol M. Baldwin Cancer Research Foundation.
