Baldwinsville At 11:54 p.m. Oct. 21, Officer J.S. Cerankowski observed a vehicle fail to signal when turning from River Street onto W. Genesee Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Sharon Burke, 52, of 7789 Vernon Road South., Cicero. Alcohol involvement was detected and she was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI and failure to signal. She was processed and released on her own recognizance to appear in court Nov. 9.
At 3:12 a.m. Oct. 29, Officer J.S. Cerankowski observed a vehicle traveling 52 mph in a posted 30 mph zone on E. Genesee Street. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was identified as Kunal R. Parikh, 28, of 3406 Hammocks Dr., A-202, Baldwinsville. Alcohol involvement was detected and Parikh was subsequently arrested and charged with DWI and speeding. He was processed and released to appear in court Nov. 16.
Man faces multiple charges
At 3:15 p.m. Oct. 22, members of the police department arrested Paul Arlukiewicz, 34, of 2 Mercer St., Baldwinsville on charges of second-degree menacing, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree harassment. The charges stem from a physical domestic dispute that Arlukiewicz had with his father at their residence. It is alleged that he physically grabbed the victim by the finger and deliberately bent it in an attempt to break it. Arlukiewicz was also charged with holding a knife to the victim and threatening to kill him. After processing, he was arraigned before Judge Huling who remanded him to the Justice Center Jail on bail of $2,500 cash or bond. He was processed and released to appear in court Oct. 26.
Traffic stops leads to arrest for false inspection sticker
At 2:44 p.m. Oct. 23, Officer C.M. Coakley observed a faded red inspection sticker on the windshield of a vehicle traveling on Syracuse Street and stopped the vehicle. Upon investigation, it was determined that the inspection sticker was a paper copy of an original sticker. The driver of the vehicle, Michael S. VanSlyke, 34, of 8301 Radian Path, Baldwinsville, was arrested and charged with displaying a false inspection sticker and unlicensed driver (driving out of restriction). He was processed and released to appear in court Nov. 9.
