F-M announces survey on school safety, security

— The Fayetteville-Manlius School District has created a short, 10-question survey on school safety and security that is now available to parents, district staff and community members.

A similar 11-question survey has been developed for students.

The surveys can be completed until Nov. 27 on the school's website.

Survey results will help the recently established F-M Task Force on School Safety and Security develop recommendations for the F-M Board of Education.

Options being considered are to maintain current practices, with no additional steps necessary; hire an un-armed retired police officer to work with and mentor students; or hire an armed, active duty police officer to work with and mentor students, and intervene or make arrests if necessary.
