Why are you running for Onondaga County Legislator?

I am running for this position to give our voter’s a choice. I bring many years of diverse government experience, as well as, small business ownership experience. As a business owner, I understand the many challenges the community faces during difficult economic times. My experience and dedication to the community will allow me to provide a voice to my constituents. My youngest son has recently started his college career which leaves me with an ample amount of free time.

What is the most pressing issue or challenge faced by your district, and how do you plan to approach it?

In every level of government there are similar issues that must be addressed — how to do more with less. How can the same level of service be provided without passing along higher taxes or assessments to cover such increases?

I will look to decrease the duplication of services and equipment. I will encourage the coordination of services to reduce expenditures and cut unnecessary spending.

Why are you running for Onondaga County District 12 Legislator?

I have served on the LaFayette Town Board for 12 years and have enjoyed helping the residents of LaFayette and working to keep taxes manageable. I have always been very active in community service in the towns of the 12th district and look forward to furthering that commitment in the county legislature. My strong record of fiscal responsibility and sustainable growth will serve me well in the county legislature.
