Why are you running for Onondaga County District 17 Legislator?

All of the issues that face our County I have managed to tackle with success at the village level. Taxes, jobs and crime. My tax rate since I took office has not increased at all, I have helped create more than 250 new jobs in my village, and my crime rate is down over the course of my administration. I have the experience and tenacity to make the step to the county level, and help dig in to turn things around. My passion in life is helping people, and I can’t think of a better way than working for the taxpayer.

What is the most pressing issue or challenge faced by your district, and how do you plan to approach it?

The most pressing issue is jobs. In order to create a climate that encourages private sector growth, property taxes need to be reduced. Exploring public/private partnerships can help shift jobs from government to private sector taking the burden off the tax payer. An easy answer to this question is not possible, but my idea is a good first step.
