Mottville Fire Company earns grant

Because the little fire company doesn't get a lot of the profile some of the surrounding community departments often do, they are sometime overlooked.

"What the Mottville Fire Company has done here," said Randy Ring, grant writer, "is to say that a life in rural America is just as important as a life in a big city."

Pitman added, "now we can do our job safer."

With the ceremony over and before refreshments were served, members of the Mottville Fire Company, still in full parade uniform, unloaded the battered and used up old airpacks from the fire trucks and replaced them with the shiny new ones to insure that they could immediately be used, because an alarm can go off at any time and they want to always be ready.
