Jazz saxophonist and Baldwinsville native Jesse Collins brings his great jazz sound to the Rainbow Shores Hotel in Pulaski from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday May 28, when he begins a monthly concert series that will feature his quartet.
Collins, who studied with jazz legends Lee Konitz, Sam Rivers, Reggie Workman and Jaki Bayard, spent 15 years in New York City developing his craft and has performed with some of the finest jazz musicians in the world including Jimmy Cobb, Sach Perry, Avishi Cohen, Denis Charles, Boris Koslow and Carlos Mckinney.
In 2003, his first record "Introducing Jesse Collins" was a Jazz Times magazine "Critics Pic Top 10."
Collins and his quartet will also appear at the Sterling Stage Festival of the Arts, at 4 p.m. Friday June 17 on the main stage and at the Sterling Stage Festival Ameribeat at 2 p.m. Sunday July 17 on the main stage.
