The Town of DeWitt Republican Committee announced its candidates for local office in the fall general election. Candidates were selected at a May 2 meeting in East Syracuse where neighborhood committee representatives met and reviewed the candidates.
The committee selected town councilor Ken Andrews and town justice David Gideon to run for re-election. Art Diamond has been selected to run for town supervisor. Diamond is a local business owner and a member of the DeWitt Planning Board.
Also selected to run for town board seats are businesswoman, child advocate and DeWitt Republican Committee Secretary Tracy Gillen and DeWitt native and business manager, Scott Whipple. Rocco Conte has been selected to run for the position of highway superintendent. Conte is an East Syracuse native and the current foreman for the department.
"We are pleased with our slate of candidates," said Matt Wells, DeWitt chairperson. "They represent an experienced, dedicated team committed to fiscal responsibility and keeping DeWitt a great place to live and work. They will very capably represent the Town".
