Ann F. Monroe, president of the Community Health Foundation of Western and Central New York and governor-appointed member of the New York State Medicaid Redesign Team, will give the keynote presentation at the Loretto Foundation's Seventh Annual Older Americans Month Celebration Luncheon and 2011 Loretto Legacy Awards. The event will take place at noon Friday May 20 in the Oncenter Ballroom, Syracuse.
Monroe's timely keynote presentation "When Worlds Collide: An Aging Population, Rising Health Care Costs, and Quality Care" will be featured as part of the Loretto Foundation's annual signature benefit luncheon and Loretto Legacy Awards that celebrate the accomplishments and care of older adults in Central New York.
2011 Loretto Legacy Award honorees are Monsignor Charles J. Fahey and Tully Junior High School.
Fahey, professor emeritus at Fordham University and program officer for the Milbank Memorial Fund, is being recognized for his longtime leadership and support of Loretto and national advocacy for elders.
Tully Junior High School students, faculty and parents will be recognized for the dedication they exhibit to older adults in our community each fall when more than 100 seventh-grade students visit Loretto Health and Rehabilitation Center residents for their annual intergenerational apple pie-making event.
General admission tickets cost $50 per person, patron tickets are $100 per person and corporate sponsor tables for 10 guest can be purchased for $1,500 per table. Patron tickets and corporate sponsor tables include admission to a pre-luncheon Patron Reception for honorees at 11:30 a.m.
