Canton Woods to host flags, flag pole dedication

The Canton Woods Senior Center has scheduled a special ceremony to dedicate two new flags and a new flagpole, according to the center's Director Ruth Troy. The ceremony is a part of Canton Woods' recognition of Older Americans Month and will honor older Americans in the Greater Baldwinsville area for their service and contributions to the community.

"I'm especially pleased that our two New York State representatives have donated brand new flags that Canton Woods will proudly fly over our campus," Troy said. "Sen. John DeFrancisco has secured a New York State Flag for us while Assemblyman William Magnarelli has provided us with a U.S. Flag. Both of them have been invited to attend [the event]."

Troy invites the greater Baldwinsville community to attend this event, which will be held at 11:30 a.m. this Friday May 20.

The Canton Woods Senior Center caters to hundreds of seniors every weekday who live in and around Baldwinsville, and whose needs vary greatly by interest and activity level. It is operated and funded by the Village of Baldwinsville and the towns of Lysander and Van Buren.
